Terrible 1s?

Maddie you came out crying and you haven't stopped since! I love you to pieces, but boy you are full of drama! You keep me busy!

Potty training

Gianna you are almost 2.5 and you are doing so well potty training! Today was the most successful day! You haven't had a single accident yet and have asked to go potty six times one time you went poop! You seem to understand it better without wearing your diaper and being able to rush to your little potty yourself and not have to wait for me. Training pants haven't worked well since you must still feel like you are wearing a diaper and can pee in it. We will try training pants next week when you have had a full week of getting yourself to the potty! You love to say "so proud of you!" When you go potty and then you get two candies for going potty and four for poopies! Mommy and daddy are so proud of you! Keep it up! 

Maddie at 1 yr old

Maddie you are quite the character! You know what you want and let us know it too! You love to have the attention on you and love to be played with and held. You aren't a cuddler like your sister, but when you do fall asleep on us or lay your head down it is such a joy. You have the most beautiful blue eyes and the most delicious chubby legs! So much so that we have nick named you "chubby bubby" or as your sister calls you, "chubs". 

You have two front teeth and two bottom teeth and I'm sure a bunch on their way in. Even with so few teeth you love to eat! I have to keep my eye on you because you'll put most anything in your mouth...especially paper! We have a little game when you eat we both look at eachother and say "mm mm mm" back and forth. 

You have started to make some signs, particularly the sign for all done. You say it while you sign it and you are so cute! 

You say momma and dada and terrible. You also say what's daaaaat and hi. 

I love getting you in the morning. I come in to find you usually babbling and rolling or walking around your crib and then when you see me you get all excited and start jumping around and smile. You like to point at everything and say "what's thaaaaaat?" 

You love your swing outside and get all excited when I push you high. You stare and laugh at Gianna on her swing. You especially love it when I bring out Popsicles. You love to eat those. 

You just started blowing out the candle during morning prayers and I can tell you feel like one of the big kids. 

You really enjoy swimming in the water. You just sit in your float and splash your hand in the water. You just recently started screaming every time we put you in the tub, which you used to love. 

You are walking so well and move fast! You started walking at ten months old! 

You are growing and developing every day and I am so happy to be here to see it all! We love you bubby! 

Gianna at 2.5 yrs old

"Oh look! Maddie lion Gianna penguin!" Referring to their toothbrushes. 

Often and randomly you will look up at me or daddy and reach out your arms to hug us and say "I love you." 

When you do potty you shout out "I so proud of you! Yay candy!" You make the sign for potty and tell me "potty!!! Quick quick!" When you have to go. You aren't potty trained yet, but you do try! Wen you dirty your diaper you'll say, "oh gross! Take a diaper off!"

You love to help mommy cook and clean and love to be right by my side. I let you stand on a chair and you have so much fun at the sink washing dishes in the water. You put all the placemats out for dinner and put them away afterwards. You also like to use the vacuum and suck up individual pieces of food. When you want to help me you say, "help mommy COOK!" 

You love to be cuddled and treated like a baby. You love when I pretend your a baby and cover you up and hold you and say "oh baby! Nice baby" you giggle and smile at me. It makes me sad that you aren't my little baby anymore! 

You and Maddie are becoming little buds and love to chase eachother around the house. I often find the two of you in the playroom sharing your toys and see Maddie watching everything you do. By the way share to you means give me that now! 

You love the outdoors and love to run barefoot around the yard. You love your swing and you shout out "so high mommy!" You love riding the tractor with daddy and love to sit on your bike. You can't ride it yet but you still love to just sit on it. Bugs And dirt don't seem to bother you one bit! 

You are so interested in animals and love learning the names of new ones. You are so friendly to them and get so excited to pet them! At two and a half you know animals like wombats, meerkats, iguanas etc. 

You love to read and love to be read to. I could give you a stack of books and you'll sit on the couch and thumb through all of them. At night time after I read your bedtime story you cry and ask for "book book book!" 

You are so friendly to other people and love to say hi to people. You wave, say thank you, and say "what's that?" To everyone! 

You speak really well and have a very good vocabulary. You sign a lot of words and use them often. You catch on to things very fast and memorize easily. 

You love to blow out our morning prayer candle and love to blow kisses to Jesus and mary. You have memorized a bunch of saints and love to look through the saint book! 

You get so proud of yourself and love to look to daddy for reassurance and acknowledgement especially when your hair is done or you are wearing something pretty. 

You love the water and have been doing so great with swimming! You swim with your life jacket float and like to kick and move your arms. You get so excited and laugh! We have to tell you to close your mouth so you won't swallow water! You also love "bumpas speedboat" and the jet ski and make daddy take you out on that. You love being at the lake! 

You are such a joy and our love bug! You are so well tempered easy to get along with and listen very well. I can't believe you are 2.5 years old! We love you!
